The Arts Integration Cohort Project (AICP) is a research-based model that seeks to use the integration of the arts to promote understanding and increase student achievement. Charlene Farrington, executive director of the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum in Delray Beach, is dedicated to preserving and sharing African American history through exhibitions and educational and artistic programs. Sherryl Muriente is the Director of Urbanism for the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA).Recently, the Palm Beach County Public Art Committee held a virtual meeting to review a request for the placement of a mural at the San Castle Community Center, taking advantage of media technology allowed under the governor's executive orders in connection with the COVID-19 crisis. Dave Lawrence, who has affiliations with various organizations such as the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Cultural Landscape Foundation, has worked on numerous projects related to knowledge of the Everglades, architecture, and community art in specific locations. Vivian Donnell Rodriguez, who earned a scholarship at the National Museum for Women in the Arts and worked in the Department of Public Affairs and Publications of the National Endowment for the Arts, has been an advocate for the arts and a leader in community arts education for more than 10 years.
The Artistic Integration Cohort Project is committed to implementing school-wide strategies to build a school culture with high expectations so that all students learn, develop and apply artistic skills and knowledge, improve understanding of academic concepts, and connect interdisciplinary arts with academic learning. Mark Lawrence is president and CEO of Palm Beach County Cultural Council. He serves as an arts advocate for the arts and culture community; directs professional staff of Cultural Council; and represents cultural community on local, regional, and national issues. He is also responsible for marking addresses and selecting all works of art owned by county - whether loaned, donated or purchased.
